Concept
In a world that demands motion, Stillness Held captures the seismic force of a single moment anchored in presence. A fractured figure, half shattering and half forming, stands defiant, centered in luminous energy radiating from the core. It is a response to rupture and rebirth, painted as both a meditation and an uprising.
This is not stillness as silence. This is stillness as stance.
Composition
The central figure fractures outward across cubist planes of prismatic color. The explosion emerges from the solar plexus, where inner tension meets outer impact. Behind, the mountains remain unmoved. Beside, the ruins hold memory. The clouds churn above, yet the figure does not falter.
What draws you first
The force-field around the chest—a detonation of color, emotion, and energy—seems frozen in time. Yet your eye is guided by the shards that ripple outward like thoughtforms, each connected to action, memory, and consequence.
Palette & Energy
Primary jewel tones—sapphire, crimson, ochre, and emerald—are fractured by moments of white-hot light. This is energy released. Each color becomes a nerve, a signal, a flash of becoming.

Artist’s Note
This piece was born during a period of physical immobility, where painting became a response to pain. It reflects a personal neuro-symbolic journey, one where each fracture revealed deeper capacity. As a neurophysiologist and immersive artist, I see this moment not as an endpoint, but as a resonant pulse echoing outward.
“Stillness Held” is a portal to the power within the pause.
