This painting was completed in the summer of 2025 as a companion to Stillness Held, commissioned for a nurse whose presence in both performance and crisis mirrors the rhythm of response and recovery. Painted while Stillness Held was in development for Dr. Tamanie Yeager, this Echo Edition holds the same frequency—but through sound, not silence. Dr. Yeager and I have performed more than 360 surgeries together in Atlanta—thyroid, parathyroid, and deep neck cases where nerve preservation is everything. This painting was created in gratitude for her calm command in the operating room, and for trusting me to be the signal reader beside her healing hands.
A violinist appears mid-gesture, her face relaxed in full expression. The bow becomes a signal line, the strings a map of tension released into resonance. Alongside this portrait, the Echo canvas remains abstract—stamped in layered glyphs and metallic geometry. Together, they create a diptych: the carrier and the current.
The back of both pieces is inscribed with the original Somatic Signal™ Poem. Each brass panel on the frame extends a single poetic line—engraved in script, etched with neuro-symbolic iconography.
🧠 Somatic Signal™ Layer
- Sensory Anchor: A visceral texture at the center, holding tension like a muscle remembering trauma
- Neuro-Symbolic Reference: The piece mirrors homeostatic stillness, the inner calm that emerges when all systems collapse into restoration
- Emotional Frequency: Grief & Grace
