Jaw Tension
The Clenched Jaw™Jeremy’s Observation™
A short reflection from Jeremy Morton on why the jaw can become one of the first places effort becomes visible.
What you may notice
A sore jaw, clenching, tightness near the ears, teeth touching when you are not eating, or a subtle sense that your face is holding effort.
What it might mean
Your system may be bracing for demand before your mind has named it. The jaw can become an early output channel for effort, restraint, focus, or unsaid tension.
Why It Matters
The trigeminal system carries rich sensory information from the face and jaw. When attention, stress, and muscle tone rise together, the jaw can quietly register the load before the story becomes clear.
The OR Window™
In long cases, tension often enters the room before anyone says a word. You can see it in the jaw, the voice, the pace, and the way people hold their breath before the hard part arrives.
